Photographer turned musician Woodson Black, aka Haux, has announced details of a second EP to be released this year and building on the steady reputation set out by his 2015 debut All We’ve Known EP. The next project will be accompanied by a short film, centred around a whirlwind romance between two encapsulating characters and some stunning cinematography. This story has already been teased via the visuals for ‘Heartbeat’, Haux’s latest single, an expansive electronic track that portrays Black’s poetry over a production that sweeps from minimalist synths and finger-clicks to sophisticated trap-laced choruses. It’s the most perfect soundtrack to the video, filmed at the Cape Cod seaside town of Truro, Massachusetts, which Haux recalls for us: “I get the chills anytime I remember this day at the beach. The landscape was so desolate it somehow made us shiver even more. I tried my best to capture that haunting feeling of being completely alone with your thoughts; those relentless kind of thoughts that never leave you.
